For 30 years, Waste’n WaterTech has had one focus: helping communities and industries across Western Canada access reliable, high-performance water, wastewater, and biosolids treatment solutions. This anniversary is a moment to celebrate where we started, how far we’ve come, and most importantly the people and partners who have made the journey possible.

From a Small Start to a Western Canadian Leader

Our story begins in 1996, when the business was owned by Larry Sagstuen and operated as Pieces O’Eight Equipment, originally focused on equipment sales into Alberta’s oilfield market.

In 1999, Brian Clarke partnered with Larry and expanded into water and wastewater treatment equipment across Alberta and Saskatchewan. With that expansion came a new name: B&L Water Technologies.

In 2005, Dave Van Vliet joined the team, and the company began operating as BD WaterTech, growing product lines and expanding our territory to cover all of Western Canada.

In 2009, Dave became the sole owner and renamed the company to Waste’n WaterTech Ltd., the name our customers and partners know today.

In 2010, Dominic joined Waste’n WaterTech Ltd. as the Area Manager for the Prairie provinces. He moved to Calgary in 2017 and became a Partner and the President of the company in 2019.

What We Do Today

Today, Waste’n WaterTech represents a top-tier collection of water, wastewater, and biosolids treatment technologies bringing together solutions from twenty manufacturers under one roof to support municipalities and industrial facilities across the West.

Our team supports a wide range of applications and treatment needs, helping owners and operators move from challenges to solutions with proven equipment and practical experience.

Built in Calgary. Supporting All of Western Canada

Waste’n WaterTech is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, with one regional sales office in British Columbia and one in Manitoba ensuring local support across the Western Canadian market.

Our Parts and Service department operates from our Calgary location and includes a service shop for in-house pump repair so customers can count on responsive support long after equipment is delivered.
